Highland Ballet Collective
Highland Ballet Collective was founded by Andrew Giblin and David Plumpton, two experienced professionals who first came together working with Ballet In The City.
Together, Andrew and David created Highland Ballet Collective to deliver high-quality, focused training opportunities for dancers throughout Scotland and afar.
The programme has been introduced to encourage more ballet oppertunities throughout Scotland for dancers looking to further there technique and training.


Andrew Giblin -
Royal Academy of Dance
Andrew Giblin trained at The Dance School of Scotland before graduating to Elmhurst Ballet School in association with Birmingham Royal Ballet. His performance career has spanned stage and screen, with credits including The Nutcracker, El Amor Brujo, and Cinderella (as Prince), as well as appearances in Netflix’s The Princess Switch: Switched Again, Apple TV.
Andrew is a fully qualified teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance and is passionate about inspiring the next generation of dancers.
David Plumpton
David Plumpton, born in North Yorkshire, is widely regarded as one of the UK’s foremost dance accompanists, with a distinguished career spanning more than 25 years. He currently works as both company and school accompanist with Northern Ballet, as well as for the Northern School of Contemporary Dance and the Royal Ballet School’s Associates programme. David has collaborated with some of the most respected dancers, teachers, and choreographers of his generation and has composed several full-length ballet scores. His musical expertise and deep understanding of dance training provide students with an exceptional and authentic studio experience.
